Electrification is quietly rewriting proportion rules

Losing the combustion engine doesn't just change what's under the skin, it changes what the skin is allowed to do. No mandatory grille, no transmission tunnel forcing a raised centre console, no fixed relationship between wheelbase and cabin length. Most of what still reads as “car proportion” right now is habit, not necessity.

The Solitaire study was my own attempt at pushing that further: a Monoposto layout only makes sense once you stop designing around a drivetrain that no longer exists in that form. The real challenge isn't technical freedom, it's restraint. A silhouette with no constraints left can just as easily become shapeless as radical. The best electric proportions I've seen keep at least one borrowed rule from the combustion era, on purpose, so the eye has something to read the rest of the surface against.
